Bathrooms take a beating. Between the humidity, the products, and the daily traffic, they can start to feel tired very quickly. But you don’t need a sledgehammer or a massive renovation budget to fall in love with your space again.

I recently stopped by The Good Stuff to share some low-effort, high-impact ways to refresh a bathroom. These are the quick fixes that make the whole room feel clean and new again – without costing a lot of time or money.

1. The “Zero Dollar” Clean Out

One of the quickest wins starts with cleaning – specifically, your medicine cabinet, drawers or under the sink cabinetry.

  • The Problem: We tend to jam-pack these shelves with products we haven’t touched in years. There is usually dust, product spillage, and expired medication hiding in the back.
  • The Fix: Pull everything out. Wipe down the shelves to get rid of that sticky residue. Toss anything expired. When you put things back, bring the items you actually use to the front so they are easy to reach.
  • Why it works: It instantly makes the space look lighter and function better, and it doesn’t cost a cent.

2. Streamlined Organization

Next up is getting things off the ledge. If your counters are covered in bottles, the room feels messy.

  • The Swap: I love adding refillable soap dispensers and using attachable shelves (like the ones I showed from Umbra) to give everything a home.
  • The Caddy System: Keep a “grab-and-go” caddy stocked with your everyday essentials. When you aren’t using them, they tuck away neatly.
  • The Tools: Don’t hide your cleaning tools if they are ugly—swap them for functional ones like the Clorox Wand or a sleek squeegee. If they are right there and tidy, you aren’t hunting for them, which means you’ll actually use them.

3. Upgrade Your Textiles

In a bathroom, your linens are literally your décor. Old, mismatched towels drag the vibe down.

  • The Upgrade: Swap in a fresh set of towels. On the show, I featured Turkish Towels from Silk & Snow.
  • Why I Love Them: They are incredibly soft, they look beautiful on a hook or rack, and most importantly—they dry fast, which prevents that damp bathroom smell.
  • The Spa Vibe: Add in a fresh bath mat or even a new robe. It’s a small switch, but it makes your bathroom feel like a little spa again.

4. Add Life with Greenery

Bathrooms can feel sterile with all that tile and porcelain. You need to soften the space.

  • The Fix: Green up your space with indoor tropical plants. They love humidity, so the bathroom is the perfect environment for them.
  • No Window? No Problem: If you are like me and don’t have a bathroom window, get a realistic artificial plant. You still get the calming green vibe without the stress of keeping it alive.
  • Shop It: Artificial Tropical Plant

5. The Scent Shift

Finally, if you want to change how you feel about a space, change how it smells. Scent sets the tone the moment you walk in.

  • The Product: I’ve been using the Green Tea Reed Diffuser from Bouclair.
  • Why it works: Unlike a candle that you have to light, a reed diffuser works 24/7. It lasts forever and shifts the mood of the room instantly.
  • Shop It: Bouclair Green Tea Diffuser
